Whether you’re a filmmaker shaping character and narrative, a director seeking psychological depth in performance, an actor working to embody and then disengage from demanding roles, or a festival pursuing thoughtful engagement with media, we bring psychological insight to every stage of the process.
At PsychMinded Media, storytelling is both a creative and psychological process. Our work is grounded in four core pillars that guide how we support storytellers, productions, and institutions. Center narrative integrity, thoughtful dialogue, authentic character development, and care for the mental health of those involved.
Narrative focuses on script and story development. PsychMinded Media works with storytellers to shape scripts so characters and situations feel realistic. The work often applies to stories that involve complex emotions.
Dialogue focuses on how stories are discussed and explained. PsychMinded Media supports festivals, panels, and Q&As by guiding conversations that help audiences understand meaning behind the work.
Character focuses on understanding who a character is and why they behave the way they do. We help actors develop believable backstories and emotional choices while keeping control, awareness, and boundaries.
Care focuses on protecting the mental and emotional health of the people doing the work. PsychMinded Media provides on-set support, derolling practices, and guidelines to help cast set boundaries, and avoid burnout.
We work with filmmakers and producers early on to shape scripts and ideas, helping ensure the story makes sense emotionally and structurally before production begins.
We provide on-set support and consultation to help productions navigate emotionally complex material while maintaining clarity, boundaries, and care for cast and crew.
We review scripts and edits, support creators and performers as the work is released, and participate in festivals through panels, moderation, and Q&As.

Dr. Katherine Marshall Woods, through her work with PsychMinded Media, serves as a consulting media psychologist for InHale Studios Inc., where we produce original animated storytelling across both adult and youth-focused content. Her contributions have strengthened the psychological depth of our narratives while also elevating our positioning—bringing clarity, credibility, and intention to how our work is developed and presented.
